Langkawi [Kilim Geoforest Park]

Interesting place which can pay a visit @ Langkawi

Kilim Geoforest Park

Kilim Karst Geoforest Park is one of the 3 park with World Geopark status given by UNESO in June 2007 which makes it one of the most popular tourist area in Langkawi

The geopark locates just at the Kilim River
This area actually consists of three river estuaries that stretch from the Kisap village approximately 10 km to Tanjung Rhu and they are all interconnected. They are rich in wildlife and tourists may see hairy nosed sea otters, brown winged kingfishers, monitor lizards and swimming macaque monkeys. Limestone, inherently porous, forms caves and there are several in the mangroves. One of Langkawi's natural beauty spots is the Pirate Lagoon just outside the river which it is a collapsed cave consisting of a cave entrance from the sea emerging into a hidden lagoon with towering, limestone escarpments and smaller caves.
While enter you will see lots of mangrove tree by the side ....

Perak [Labu Sayong Factory]

Intresting place for visit @ Perak

Labu Sayong factory

It is located at Kuala Kangsar
In here there is lots of pottery making which one of the famous is Labu Sayong (water clay flask to store water).
In this village all those pottery were made from traditional method.

This is the village where the Labu Sayong is made and the sales of the variety of earthen-wares produced from this village.  It is a centre which accommodate the pottery makers as well as other cottage industry players to exhibit their expertise and to provide them stalls to market their unique products.  Its area is roughly around 50 hectares.  Located on the opposite bank of the Perak River facing the Rest House and overlooking the Masjid Ubudiah and the Istana Iskandariah, this complex houses many buildings for exhibition, display, conferences and seminars.

Before entering the village a big black Labu Sayong can be seen

You can experience how to make your own Labu Sayong but it takes times (few days for the process to complete) and buy some of the post made product here
